As always, below my signature is a deeper dive to help provide context for how the work of SymbiOp is consistent with the principles of a solidarity economy.

Why I put my pronouns in my email signature
SymbiOp is a profitable worker-owned cooperative. Their team has decades of experience and aims to be a one-stop shop for all ecological gardening, homesteading, and landscaping needs, for residential, commercial, and public land.
Their slogan is “For People and Planet“, which reflects their triple-bottom-line mission. This means they strive to create social and ecological benefits as much as, or more than financial benefit. Follow this link to learn more about them.
They use the Regenerative Ecological Paradigm to ensure our landscaping, retail, and internal operations align with their mission. Follow this link to learn what that means, and why it’s better than sustainable or organic practice.
They are also part of the Oregon New Economy Project.
As a kid, JT spent many hours learning about the earth and the universe, despite growing up in the concrete jungle of Shanghai, China. After moving to the United States and getting his degree in Physics, he dedicated his life in creating resilient systems, be them ecological systems, social systems, business systems, or computer systems. During his free time, JT likes to write essays and fictions, produce music, go camping, and practice Tibetan Buddhism. He credits Tibetan Buddhism for his initial understanding and commitment to interdependence and non-duality, which later on led him to study more regenerative practices and system science. JT is one of the three original founders of SymbiOp. Checkout his blog post detailing the founding journey!
Co operatives are the practice point for a future after Capitalism...cooperation, democracy, respect for the health and well being of all people and the natural world we are part of cannot be fostered by a system designed for profit, exploitation, domination and control that Capitalism is rooted in. A wonderful segment tonite, showing the real capacity for love and caring that we human beings have given the opportunity...we need an economic system and culture embodied in socialism and true democracy. PeopleForANewSociety has a 'greenprint' for such a future that fits well with tonites discussion. Thanks to Red Neck Gone Green....you are creating a unique & important pathway!
