I hope you are safe, secure, happy and healthy. I'm writing to share the recording from the first episode of our brand new weekly podcast: “Redneck Gone Green.” Find episode 1 here. You can tune in live every Tues at 3pm pacific, 4pm mountain, 5pm central, 6pm eastern on Youtube by clicking here.
With the sobering reality of ecological catastrophe, economic collapse, and rising fascism, our show will go beyond the “ain’t it awful” description of how bad things are. We aim to create a platform for insightful conversations to grapple with the question “What Is To Be Done?”
This Tues, Aug 1st we will be interviewing Jerome Scott of the League of Revolutionaries for a New America. The topic will be “Non-Reformist Reforms.” For those who want a deep dive on the subject here is a thought piece on the idea.
Jerome is uniquely qualified to be part of this conversation. He was a labor organizer in the auto plants of Detroit in the 1960s-70s. In the 70’s he moved to the South and has been a community organizer, popular educator ever. He was a founding member and former director of Project South: Institute for the Elimination of Poverty & Genocide in Atlanta, GA. He was a key organizer of the U.S. Social Forum, and is active with multiple social change formations, including the League of Revolutionaries for a New America.
We would be honored to have you as part of our community. We encourage you to share your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions. Your voice matters, and we will be conducting surveys where you decide what topics we cover.
Help us spread the word by sharing this email with your friends, family, or colleagues who might be interested in joining the movement for progressive conversations. Let's create a ripple effect of change together!
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to having you as a listener.
Onward to the world we deserve,
David Cobb
