Community Wealth Building
Transforming local economies through direct ownership and control of assets
Howdy Y’all,
Thank you for being a part of the growing Redneck Gone Green community. A reminder that we broadcast live every Monday at the 3pm pacific, 6pm eastern on the Democracy at Work YouTube channel.
Redneck Gone Green is 100% supported by readers/listeners/viewers. To receive new posts and support our work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
Our next live show will be Monday, March 24 at 3pm pacific, 6pm eastern. Our guest will be Joe Guinan, President at The Democracy Collaborative. His work focuses on political economy and economic system change. You can join the conversation and make live comments or ask Joe questions on YouTube by clicking here.
If you have been watching the broadcast or listening to the podcast, you may have noticed that co-host Shane Knight and I have been frequently referencing a news aggregator called Tracking the Crisis: We Read the News So You Don’t Have To! Well, that is a project of The Democracy Collaborative.
But wait, there’s more!
The Democracy Collaborative is also a global leader in advancing Community Wealth Building, an economic development model that transforms local economies based on communities having direct ownership and control of their assets.
Joe also co-authored (with Martin O’Neill) The Case for Community Wealth Building and People Get Ready! Preparing for a Corbyn Government (with Christine Berry). People Get Ready was named one of The Guardian’s best politics books of 2019.
I really do hope you can join us live, which allows you to make live comments on YouTube. Just click here. If not, remember that you can always access the recording (both video and audio) by becoming a subscriber on the Redneck Gone Green Youtube channel by clicking here.
Onward to the world we deserve,
David Cobb, The Redneck Gone Green
Joe Guinan

Welcome to TRACKING THE CRISIS, a weekly email from The Democracy Collaborative tracking the administrative, legislative, and other actions of the new Trump Administration as well as the many forms of legal and movement response from across a broad range of social, political, and economic actors. TDC is providing this service for collective informational purposes, as a tool for understanding the times during a period of disorientingly rapid flux and change in the U.S. political economy. TDC should not be understood as endorsing or otherwise any of the specific content of the information round-up.

I was very impressed with your recent interview with Dr. Richard Wolff on YouTube. I've been watching him, Robert Reich, Sam Seder, etc. gotting a handle on the big picture rather than doom scrolling and ranting/raving. I'm a big advocate of cooperatives (housing, employment, etc.) and some of my blogs (www.dunnwriteswell.com) and my novel (Mall Child) weave in themes of self-sufficiency, mutual aid, etc.
